10 months

Over the last month Savannah has begun walking while pushing her toys around. Her favorite is a musical push toy that she can play with while sitting on the floor or pushing. She's been working on how to turn it around once she hits a wall but at this point usually looses interest
before she gets it turned the right direction. She also has started swaying to the music both sitting and standing up. Too bad the songs don't last a bit longer!

The other day she climbed into her rocking chair, turned around and started playing with the dangling toys. I was really surprised when I came around the corner to find her sitting properly. Usually she climbs in the chair so she can bang on the furnace intake piece.

She is doing a lot of problem solving at the moment and is figuring out that if she stands on something she has a longer reach. She was so funny this morning as she got herself stuck in the corner and then attempted to get out. Although she had a pathetic look on her face she needed to figure it out on her own. She eventually made it out with encouragement but no physical help from mom. The other day she had two toys that she was taking in and out of a bowl. She'd put one in and take the other one out. Then reverse and put the one back in and the other one out. She does this with her bath toys as well as her daily toys, although her daily toys only seem to come out of her toy box.

We read every night and she likes to help turn the pages. She will point to items on the page and I tell her what they are. She also has touch and feel books in her toy box and she'll take those out and compare and contrast the different pages. Flipping from one page to the previous page just feeling the texture then flipping back to the first page to feel that item and back and forth.

She still has 7 teeth, but has begun to stick her tongue out the left side of her mouth. She has figured out that if she runs her fingers across her lips she can make a funny noise. She started it on her own, but now I've chimed in to get her to mimic me and do it cuz it is so darn cute.

She waves more often and will sometimes copy the had gesture, but really has to be in the right mood, otherwise she just looks at you like your crazy. We are still working on the sign language, but haven't seemed to have much success, we'll keep working on it. I'm trying to get her to use signs such as "more", "finished", "play", "eat", "sleep", "hurt", "yes", and "no". We are also working on the concept of being gentle. She pats the dog, but has started to "pat" the kids at school too and I don't want it to turn into hitting.

She still continues to be sick with congestion and coughs. In the last 7 months she's had two sinus infections and this last infection moved into her ears to give her an ear infection. Her doctor and I both think it may be allergies. We went in for blood tests, but the Phlebotomist was unable to get any blood, so Savannah has to go back to have the blood drawn, we are going to a different Phlebotomist. She also had a bad reaction to egg yolks when that was introduced so the doctor is not only doing a pet allergy test but also a food allergy test. I'm hoping she grows out of any allergies and begins to be a bit healthier in next year.

Well I guess that is all for today, next month I'll try to add some pics. Not sure how to do it yet, but I can figure it out.
